Afghanistan,the rising team in cricket.

 Afghanistan is the national cricket team which represents Afghanistan in the international cricket. Afghanistan had been playing Cricket ever since the mid 19th century but have been successful in the international area only in the last few decades. The Afghanistan cricket federation was set up in 1995. They became a member of ICC ( International Cricket Council) in 2001 and became a member of Asian Cricket Council ( ACC) in 2003. They were ranked number 9th according to the Twenty twenty rankings of 2011
   Afghanistan team was formed in 2001. They played in the 2011 world cup qualifier in 2009 and lost it. But in 2010 they qualified for the 2010 T20 world cup. The same year they won their first intercontinental cup by beating Scotland in the finals. They also won The Asia VS Caribbean 20-20 Championship by beating Trinidad and Tobago, Bangladesh and Barbados.
                                 
  Lets see about some of the great players of that team.
 Mohammad Shahzad.
    Mohammad Shazhad is a 24 years old right hand batsman who is also a wicketkeeper for the Afghanistan cricket team since 2009. He made his first class debut in 2009 against Zimbabwe X1. During their tour to the Netherlands Shazhad created history by becoming the first player of Afghanistan to score a century in a one-day international game as they won by 6 wickets. Shazhad also was the first Afghanistan player to score a double century in a first class teat match against Canada In 2010 Intercontinental cup.





Mohammad Nabi     

             Mohammad Nabi is a right handed batsman and a off break bowler and is also the captain of the Afghanistan team.Nabi who made his ODI debut against Scotland scored 58 runs. He also scored 102 runs in the first class debut against Zimbabwe XI. 


Shapoor Zadran.
 Shapoor Zadran is a left-arm batsman and a left arm medium bowler. Zadran was part of the Afghanistan national team right from 2003. He is a strong bowler. Zardar was a key player in the victorious side of Afghanistan in ACC trophy where they beat Canada in the finals. He took a single wicket from 7 overs leaving just 11 runs.
