CHECKMATE VISWANATHAN ANAND

VISWANATHAN ANAND was born in 11 December 1969 in a small  town called   Mayiladuthurai in Tamilnadu, India. He won his current tittle GRANDMASTER way back in 1987. He became India's first grandmaster. He was the FIDE WORLD CHESS CHAMPION FROM 2000 TO 2002. he became the world's undisputed champion in 2007. Anand is one of the six persons in the history to break the 2800 mark in the FIDE ratings. I April 2007 he was declared the world no: 1. In 20007 he received padma vibusha award. As a child Anand was taught how to play chess by his mother. They both would fill puzzles together and would send it to the post office. VISWANATHAN ANAND is a pride to India.
